Dr Marko Milosev

I have completed my PhD in History at the Central European University in Vienna (Austria), and I have been programming in Python and R for several years. I am particularly interested in Natural Language Processing (NLP) and its applications in Digital Humanities. Prior to my current role as a postdoctoral researcher at the European University Institute in Florence (Italy), I have been fortunate to hone my analytical and technical skills as a researcher at the Faculty of Informatics at UNED in Madrid (Spain), Faculty of Political, Administrative and Communication Studies at the Babes-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca (Romania), and the Institute of Contemporary History in Ljubljana (Slovenia). My current project is based on the analysis of violent and extremist rhetoric in 19th and 20th century political bulletins and newspapers by using Machine Learning and other text analysis tools.
I am a keen gamer and Trekkie 🖖
